Dean is a village and civil parish in the Allerdale District, in the county of Cumbria. Dean has a Church of England School, a church called St Oswald's Church, Dean and a pub. Allerdale is on a minor road four miles south-west of Cockermouth, off the A5086. The A5086 is the nearest main road linking the Village of Dean to the rest of Cumbria. Dean is very close to the Lake District National Park with approximately 18.9miles, to the nearest tourist information centre. Dean lies on both sides of the River Marron which is formed by the union of several small streams.
